How do dental implants work?
Dental implants are usually made of titanium and are placed directly into your jawbone – replacing your missing tooth root. After they’re fitted, the bone surrounding the implant will gradually integrate with it, holding the implant firmly in place. A crown, bridge or denture (false teeth) is then fitted to the top of the dental implant(s). The process of having dental implants usually takes between four and six months, but this can vary depending on your individual needs and treatment plan.
